Our team

Let us introduce you to our team that works on trips, transfers and safari organization together. We design the trips so that you get to know the local life and also balance the two main cultures on the island - Maasai and Swahili. But on the other hand, you will learn from Romana what it is like for our people to live on an island near the equator, we talk about the positives and negatives. We do our trips in a friendly atmosphere and always have a lot of fun. Our guests become our friends and often come back again. Some Czechs on the island only facilitate the trips but never participate. It's a pity.

Romana has been living and working on Zanzibar for over 4 years. First as a wedding coordinator and concierge at the Karafuu Hotel, then as manager of the Baladin Hotel and Restaurant. After her experience in hotels and long time on the island, she decided to work as a delegate for smaller Czech travel agencies while guiding tours and safaris for Czech clients. She enjoys her work very much because she likes to showcase the beauty of the island she knows so well, but she also has the opportunity to interact with Czech clients because she sometimes misses her home country. On the island she met her husband, Masaj Yonas, who is a widower and has a 12-year-old son, Isac. She helps her husband take care of the boy and has a family again.

Yonas is a Maasai originally from Kibirashi, a village in the interior of Tanzania. He speaks a little Czech and good English. He has a lot of experience with the Maasai culture and living in the bush among the animals and he loves to share this experience with his clients. Together with other Maasai he will show you during our trips how the Maasai sing, jump and dance. He can also tell you stories from the Maasai village. He is cheerful and full of energy. He sings and teaches local songs to guests on our trips.

Ali Čao is our local Swahili guide. He was born in Stone Town, recently married and has his first baby. He has learnt Czech well and it is unbelievable that he has only learnt it from googling. But he has been practicing his Czech during our trips. He can even answer questions, which other local guides don't give much of an answer anymore. He can tell you a lot about Swahili culture, life, weddings and Muslim religion, food and other interesting things.
